The Nativity Story movie is not just for Christmas time. This movie is a great example of what happened years ago when our Savior was conceived and born. Every time I watch it, I think of Joseph and how much he loved God and his wife.
Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: when His mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be with child by the Holy Spirit. And Joseph her husband, being a righteous man and not wanting to disgrace her, planned to send her away secretly. Matt. 1:18-19
Can you imagine how Jospeh must have felt when he found out the woman he was going to marry was pregnant (and not with his child)? This scripture tells us he was a righteous man; he did not want to disgrace Mary. That is a man after God's heart. That is the man God chose to raise His one and only Son. A man who thought more about others than he did of himself. What a great example to follow. And a great example did follow, we call Him Jesus! Praise the King!
I was praying this morning that the Lord's reflection be in me so I can disciple these little ones.....what a great example, yes indeed.
ReplyDeleteI am so thankful to the Father that He gives us ALL penty of examples to follow after! Joseph reminds me of a gentle giant...we don't hear much about him..except his obedience to God! What a Legacy!
